Postpartum Support & Consult
I offer a non-judgmental presence in the home and have extensive training in breastfeeding support, personal mother-care guidance, newborn care techniques, babywearing, emotional and informational support for the family including connecting with community programs, and other perinatal professionals if indicated. I encourage parents to trust their instincts and protect the “babymoon” period as an extended part of the birthing process.
I can help parents in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby.
Postpartum support is not discussed as much as it should be, and during this tender time, support is essential. Even a couple of hours of support or consult from a doula, educator and breastfeeding counsellor can help families to know they are cared for by a professional dedicated to their unique needs. Professional support in this time ensures maternal health screening and can greatly reduce postpartum depression, increase breastfeeding outcomes, and help families understand how to identify the best way to support new mothers.
*Postpartum hours may be included in your Birth Package, or charged separately. Ask me about how this works and what kind of discount is applied when hiring for both Birth and Postpartum support.
